Last month, I thought Helsinki would be Patrick’s final stop this season, but it turns out that our Blackbird is not done yet, and now he goes to Tokyo to compete in the World Team Trophy event. Will he attempt two quads in his short program? Will he land all three quads in the long program? Will he finally join the 300-point club? The excitement begins!

Enjoy, everyone! #WTTFigure #2017WTT

April 4: Patrick Thanks Helsinki

Nice photo of him with the other “uncle”, last year’s world champion Javier Fernandez. However, it would have been even more potent had they been wearing their similar-looking short program costumes… you know, the black ones with the suspenders?

On to the World Team Trophy in two weeks!

April 2: Worlds Banquet

At last! Patrick always looks great at these competition banquets, but he rarely wears formal black and white. Here’s a fantastic photo of him with South Korean ice dancer Yura Min!

March 30: Short Program Competition

What a fabulous skate! Patrick is in 3rd after scoring 102.13 in the short program (his first time breaking the 100-point barrier in international competition)!!! He has now achieved the first part of his goal to have two clean skates, and I am so proud of him for saying afterwards that he needs to “remind myself what are my strengths, and go with that” (see interview transcripts below). His skating today was described as that of a magician, artist, or fairy on ice. Keep up the good work, Patrick!
