Overall, a dramatic competition event for Patrick, who achieved half of his goal to complete two clean skates and landed a new quad in competition. Even though it was a bit disappointing to know that he could have won the event, to me the important thing is that he demonstrated he is totally capable of winning future competitions with the top men. We believe in you, Patrick! Don’t give up!

2016 Grand Prix Final: Day 4 – Free Skating
Pchiddy looked striking in his new costume as he landed his first ever quad salchow in international competition (see above)! Yes, unfortunately the program was marred by three falls on his other jumps (resulting in four deductions), but he got up every time and kept going with his characteristic grace and style. Afterwards he was positive and smiling, apparently ecstatic about landing the quad sal. So far in the Grand Prix Final competition, Patrick has achieved two major accomplishments: 1) First clean short program in three years, and 2) First cleanly landed new quad in competition, so he now has two quads in his arsenal. Now he just needs to put all of these elements together and skate two clean skates. Go Patrick!
