Patrick has generously given back to his sport and his community in the following ways:
 

Adopt-an-Athlete

Since 2008, Patrick has participated in the Canadian Olympic Committee’s Adopt-an-Athlete program, teaching and mentoring young elementary school children about health and fitness.
 

Participation Program

He also works with young Canadian figure skaters through the Participation program, which involves surprise rink visits.
 

Ronald McDonald House

Patrick has also been a Ronald McDonald House ambassador for eight years. He said: “I am proud and honoured to be an ambassador for Ronald McDonald House Charities® Canada. It is an outstanding and important charity. I am inspired by the courage and spirit of the children and families with each visit, and it gives me the strength to face my own more modest challenges.”
 

Leave A Trace

As of June 2016, Patrick announced that he uses Leave A Trace to give every time he travels! Leave a Trace is a non-profit that makes a donation for every travel purchase you make.
