Last updated: Tuesday, January 16, 2018

December has come quickly, and as Nationals and the Olympics approaches I wish Patrick good health and inner peace!

December 31: Happy 27th Birthday, Patrick!

Happy birthday to Patrick and a Happy New Year to all of his worldwide fans! Below is the graphic I created for his birthday / new year, but check out the many more well wishes from fans below!

Birthday Congratulations from Other Fans and Friends

December 26: On the Ice Again

More ecstatic young skaters who met Pchiddy at the Sunset Figure Skating Club in Vancouver!

December 24: Happy Holidays to All Pchiddy Fans!

My heartfelt thanks to all of you who visit this site and support it. May you have a wonderful, healthy holiday season and new year ahead!

Wherever Patrick goes, he meets young fans with a smile! It’s clear that he planned on spending the holidays in Vancouver.

December 23: Still Hard at Work!

Skater Brian Chiem (Ice Palace in Edmonton) shared this training video, where Patrick did a side by side jump on the left. Beautiful!

Such a pleasure training with @pchan31 ! @eric_liu358 #tripletoe #patrickchan

December 21: Sneak Peak of the #FlytheFlag Campaign

I can’t wait to see the one starring Patrick, Scott and Tessa!

December 20: Olympic Channel Promo and Jingle Bell Rock

The Olympic Channel posted this video to highlight Patrick’s “unfinished business”:

Patrick and the rest of the Canadian National Team sang joyously and off-key, but no matter! He started out with a lovely baritone but later sang off-key in tenor range, lol.

Personally, I enjoyed Kaitlyn and Andrew’s voices the best!

December 18: Major Update on Patrick!!

Patrick was back at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) today for an announcement by Air Canada that it renewed its sponsorship as the Official Airline of the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee. Also, Patrick is one of five athletes who will be featured in a special campaign beginning next month (article link)! He also spoke with Lori Ewing (see below) about his move to Vancouver and the energy boost it gave him!

Vancouver Energy Boost

Now we finally have an update on Patrick’s situation! According to this CBC article, moving to Vancouver has re-energized him.

“The lifestyle of Vancouver does seem to really draw me towards there,” Chan said.

Chan said Marina Zoueva, his coach in Canton, Mich., supported the move, telling him “‘Patrick, whatever makes you happy, I’m happy you’ve found a place where you could regain that energy,’ and kind of the drive, the push,” he said.

Anything can happen, which is awesome.

“They’ve done so much for me, and I really wanted it to be an open-book policy, I didn’t want it to be ‘Oh I’m running away,’ and not letting them know. So I kept things very open.”

His move West, he said, has been that energy boost he needed.

I’m so happy to see that Patrick is feeling better and I look forward to seeing him live in Vancouver next month. Now, on to a strong finish for his Olympic journey!

December 16: Back in Ontario

Patrick attended the housewarming party of Michele Davison, former figure skater and a director for The Burlington Pond Hockey Training Centre!

December 10: New Video: “Hallelujah” LP Fantasy Version

I wanted to create a fantasy version of Patrick’s “Hallelujah” LP if it had been performed well. Here’s the mashup:

For music I chose Brooklyn Duo’s instrumental version of Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah”. I hope you all enjoy it!

December 8: Patrick Gets a New Car!

Our beloved Pchiddy spent the morning at Cowell Volkswagen in Richmond, BC, where he picked up his brand new white VW Tiguan! (Scroll through for more photos.)

Patrick had said before that he loves German cars, so I am not surprised. However, I did not expect him to buy a CUV. But I think the purchase signifies that he is definitely ready to settle down in Vancouver and start a new life there, and perhaps a new family, too. Congratulations, Patrick!

December 2: Patrick at the Cyclone Taylor Figure Skating Store

Patrick stopped by this skating store in Vancouver and appropriately posed for a photo in front of the Edea banner bearing his image. Lucky people!

It was great to have Patrick Chan in the store yesterday! Thanks for stopping by @pchan31!

Hopefully this month we’ll see (and hear) more of what Patrick is doing as he goes out and about Vancouver!

  1. Hi. I just wonder if Patrick will compete at the Canadian Championships? I am coming to Vancouver anyway (from Japan!). I am afraid if he would skip it (because he would still be selected for the Olympic team).
